Sometimes the job isn't to split a file but to clean it up: remove pages from a PDF that shouldn't be there. A blank back side from the scanner, a duplicate page, an internal cover sheet before you send something to a client, or pages with personal details the recipient doesn't need.
Upload the PDF and click the pages you want gone — each one is crossed out in red so you can see exactly what will be removed. The new file keeps every other page in its original order.
How to remove pages from a PDF
- Upload the PDF Drop it on the tool. The Delete pages mode is already selected on this page.
- Click the pages to remove Each click crosses out a page. You can also type numbers like
2, 9-11or use Odd and Even to remove alternating pages. - Download the cleaned PDF Click Delete pages. The summary shows how many pages go and how many remain before you confirm.
Common clean-up jobs
- Blank pages from double-sided scanning. Click each empty back side — they're easy to spot as white thumbnails.
- Every other page. If the feeder scanned a blank back for every sheet, click Even to select all even pages at once, check the thumbnails, then delete.
- Cover sheets and separators. Remove fax covers, print-job separator pages or internal approval pages before sharing.
- Personal data. Take out pages with bank details or ID copies that a recipient doesn't need. For details on a page you keep, use a redaction tool instead.
Removing pages vs. extracting pages
Both give you a shorter PDF; the difference is what you click. In Delete pages you select the pages to drop, which is quicker when you're removing a few pages from a long document. In Extract pages you select the pages to keep, which is quicker when you only need a handful. Changed your mind halfway? Click Invert to flip the selection.
The output is named after your file, for example application_without-2_9-11.pdf, so you never confuse it with the original.
What happens to the rest of the document
The remaining pages are copied unchanged: text stays selectable, images keep their quality and the links on those pages still work. Fonts and images that only appeared on the removed pages are dropped, so the file gets smaller. Bookmarks from the original aren't carried over.
Removing pages doesn't renumber the page numbers printed on the pages themselves — it only changes which pages are in the file. If your document has printed page numbers or a table of contents, check them after deleting pages from the middle.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete pages from a PDF for free?
Upload the PDF, click the pages you want to remove (they're crossed out in red) and click Delete pages. It's free for files up to 50 MB, five times a day, with no signup.
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes. Click as many pages as you like, Shift-click to select a run, or type them, for example 3, 8-12, 20.
How do I remove blank pages from a scanned PDF?
Look for the white thumbnails and click each one. If every second page is blank, click Even (or Odd) to select them all, check the selection and then delete.
Does removing pages make the PDF smaller?
Yes. Fonts and images that were only used on the removed pages are dropped, so the new file is smaller.
Can I undo a deleted page?
Your original file isn't changed, so you can always upload it again. Before you download, just click a crossed-out page again to keep it.
Can I delete the same pages from several PDFs?
Process them one after another — type the page numbers (for example 1, 12) once, and reuse them for each file. Each PDF takes a few seconds.
