When you split a PDF into single pages, a 30-page file becomes 30 one-page PDFs. It's the quickest way to break up a batch of payslips, certificates, tickets or scanned forms so each one can be filed, emailed or uploaded on its own.
Upload your PDF, keep Split every page selected and click Split PDF. You get one ZIP with all the pages, and you can still download any single page from the list under the download button.
How to split a PDF into single pages
- Upload the PDF Drop the file on the tool above. The thumbnails show each page that will become its own file.
- Keep "Split every page" selected This mode is already chosen on this page. Each thumbnail carries the number of the file it will become.
- Download the ZIP Click Split PDF, then Download ZIP. Open the list below the button to download individual pages instead.
How the single-page files are named
Each file is named after the original plus its page number, padded so the files sort correctly in any folder: splitting payslips-2026.pdf with 120 pages gives payslips-2026_page-001.pdf up to payslips-2026_page-120.pdf. Windows Explorer, macOS Finder and phone file managers all list them in page order.
The ZIP isn't re-compressed (PDFs are already compressed), so it opens instantly — double-click it on Windows or Mac, or tap it in the Files app on iPhone and Android.
When splitting every page is the right choice
- HR and payroll: one payslip or letter per employee, ready to send separately.
- Events and travel: tickets and boarding passes that were generated as one long PDF.
- Admin and archives: a scanned stack of one-page forms or receipts to file individually.
- Teaching: worksheets or certificates for each student in a class.
If your documents are two pages each — a form with a back side, for example — use Split every N pages with N = 2 instead, so each document stays together. To keep only a few pages as single files, use Extract pages with "A PDF per page".
Big files and many pages
Splitting runs in a single pass, so even a 1,000-page document finishes in seconds. The free plan handles PDFs up to 50 MB; Pro goes up to 500 MB per file and removes the daily limit.
Each single-page file keeps only the fonts and images that its page uses, so the parts add up to roughly the size of the original instead of each one being as large as the whole document.
Frequently asked questions
How do I split a PDF into individual pages?
Upload the PDF, keep "Split every page" selected and click Split PDF. Every page becomes a separate PDF file, delivered together in a ZIP.
Can I get the pages without a ZIP file?
Yes. After splitting, open "Download files one by one" below the download button and save just the pages you need.
How many pages can I split at once?
Up to 3,000 pages per PDF and up to 1,000 output files per split. For longer documents, split them in two passes or use Split every N pages.
Are the single-page PDFs smaller than the original?
Yes. Each file contains only the fonts and images used on its page, so a page with just text is usually a few kilobytes.
Can I split several PDFs into single pages at once?
Split one PDF at a time: upload it, choose Every page, download the ZIP, then click Start over for the next file. Each split takes only a few seconds.
How do I open the ZIP on my phone?
On iPhone and iPad, tap the ZIP in the Files app and it unpacks into a folder. On Android, open it with the Files by Google app and tap Extract.
